Anthem Pays OCR Record Setting $16 Million Settlement!

On October 15th, 2018 Anthem agreed to pay the Office of Civil Rights a record $16 million settlement in response to the 2015 HIPAA breach that impacted 78.8 million individuals. Additionally, Anthem has agreed to an extensive corrective action plan to address the potential violations stemming from the 2015 cyber attacks that led to the biggest breach in healthcare history.
