Phase Two guidelines were announced by Virginia’s Governor on June 2nd, alerting that the Commonwealth of Virginia would enter Phase Two on Friday, June 5th.
Gov. Northam released the following guidelines for business re-openings, and we have included a downloadable PDF of ALL OF THE GUIDELINES for you, however, we also wanted to highlight the bits of information that may be most applicable to you.
Limit the occupancy of physical spaces to 50% so that proper social distancing may be maintained.
Practice routine cleaning and disinfection of high traffic areas such as payment pads, door handles, light switches, handrails, etc.
Provide a space for employees and customers towash handswith soap and water, or provide hand sanitizer stations.
Consider staggering shifts to reduce the number of employees in the workplace.
Instruct employees who are sick to remain home and establish sick leave policies that encourage them to do so.
More specific changes include:
Social gatherings should be limited to 50% occupancy of the event space, if applicable, or 50 participants, whichever is less.
Restaurants may have inside dining but occupancy must be limited to no more than 50% of the lowest occupancy load on the certificate of occupancy. A minimum of six feet of physical distancing between all individuals as much as possible.
Retailers must limit occupancy to 50% of the lowest occupancy load on the certificate of occupancy.
Gyms and Exercise facilities may open but occupancy must be limited to no more than 30% of the lowest occupancy load on the certificate of occupancy, if applicable, while maintaining a minimum of ten feet of physical distancing between all individuals as much as possible.
Indoor and outdoor swimming pools may be open for lap swimming, diving, exercise, and instruction only.
Indoor and outdoor recreational sports may occur if ten feet of physical distance can be maintained by all instructors, participants, and spectators, with the exception of incidental contact or contact between members of the same household.
Museums, botanical gardens, aquariums, zoos, and private social clubs may reopen but occupancy must be limited to no more than 50% of the lowest occupancy load on the certificate of occupancy.
